- A member of staff must complete a check of the outside play area, ensuring there is no debris or hazardous items e.g. broken glass.
- Members of staff must wear gloves to pick up any litter.
- Staff member must sign the outside check list sheet and notify in each playroom.
- Staff must position themselves in the play ground to observe all hot spots.
- All equipment used outside should be checked by a member of staff, all broken toys and equipment will be reported to the management team and then removed.
- The large outdoor equipment will be supervised by a member of staff; such as the climbing frame, slide etc while the children are playing.
- Each member of staff should ensure that they are aware of where the children are at all times, and keeping a note of how many children are outside. Staff should inform each other when leaving the playground.
- The staff will make sure that all children are suitably dressed for the weather, and provide extra protection as and when needed.
- Within the Nursery positive images will be encouraged which will reflect the cultural diversity. Toys, displays and activities will be culturally sensitive encompassing our Equal Opportunities Policy.
- All students will be supervised at all times.
- The nursery routine will be flexible and may on occasions change due to child’s needs or staffing situation.
